Indications

This sterile eye drops is indicated for the relief of symptoms due to dryness of the eye.

Composition

Each ml contains-
  • Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium USP 5 mg & Glycerin BP 9 mg
  • Preservative: Sodium Perborate BP 0.01%

Pharmacology

The combination of Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium and Glycerin relieves the symptoms of dry eye in two ways. Firstly it provides lubricating and hydrating protective shields on the ocular surface of the eye and then it works below the tear film to provide protection to the cornea.

Dosage & Administration

Instill 1 drop in the affected eyes as needed. Or as directed by the physician. It can be used in children.

Interaction

Interaction with other drugs is unknown. It is advisable to consult doctor before use.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any ingredient of this product.

Side Effects

Common side effects: Eyedew may be temporarily blurred when Carmelus-G is first used.

Rare side effects: Also minor and temporary burning may occur.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy: There are no adequate and well controlled studies in pregnant women. Carboxymethylcellusole Sodium and Glycerin should be used in pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.

Lactation: Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium or Glycerin has not been measured in human milk. Caution should be exercised when the combination of Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium and Glycerin is administered to a nursing mother.

Precautions & Warnings

Consult a doctor if irritation, eye pain or visual changes worsen or persist beyond 72 hours.

Overdose Effects

An overdose of Eyedew eye drops is not expected to be dangerous.

Storage Conditions

Store below 30°C. Protect from light. Do not use longer than 1 month after 1st opening. Do not freeze. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
