Indications
Doloryl Vet is indicated in fever, pain, inflarnmatory diseases and acute infectious respiratory disease & acute mastitis in cattle as supportive therapy. Doloryl Vet also indicated in synovitis, bursitis, arthritis, tendinitis, sprains, twist, traumatic injuries etc.
Pharmacology
Carprofen is a NSAID's and possesses anti-inflamatory, analgesic & antipyretic activity. Carprofen inhibits COX enzyne. A single dose has been shown to reduce prostaglandin E2 production and inflammatory exudate and leukotriene B-4 is inhibited.
Dosage & Administration
Route of administration: Oral administration only.
Cattle: 2 mg/kg body weight orally once daily.
Horses: 0.7 mg/kg body weight orally once daily for up to 4 or 9 days.
Dogs: 2-4 mg/kg body weight daily divided doses for 7 days & then 2 mg once daily.
Sheep: 4 mg/kg body weight orally once daily.
Birds/Reptiles: 1-4 mg/kg body weight orally once daily.
For the control of postoperative pain administer approximately 2 hours before the procedure. Or as directed by the registered Veterinarian.

Interaction
With Medicine: Doloryl Vet should not be administrated simultaneously with another NSAIDs or any other Corticosteroids.

Contraindications
Animals with cardiac, renal or hepatic disease, where there is the possibility of gastro-intestinal ulceration or bleeding, hypersensitivity to the drug; treatment with other NSAIDs concurrently or within 24 hours: race horses prior racing; pregnant mares.
Side Effects
Common side effects: Prolonged use may cause gastro-intestinal lesions, inappetance, vomiting and diarrhea. Rare Side effects: Not known.
Pregnancy & Lactation
The safety of Carprofen in pregnant & lactating animals has not been established. However, risk & necessity should be considered during administration of this medicine in pregnant & lactating animals.
Precautions & Warnings
Caution with use in animals less than 6 weeks of age or aged animals; avoid used in dehydrated, hypovolunlaemic or hypotensive patients; avoid concurrent, potentially nephrotoxic drugs.
