Tufnil Vet Injection

Tufnil Vet is highly effective anti-inflammatory, antitoxic, analgesic & antipyretic associated with respiratory diseases, acute mastitis, mastitis-metritis-agalactia syndrome, musculoskeletal pain etc. in animals. It is also indicated as supportive therapy with antibiotic.

Tolfenamic acid exerts anti-inflammatory & pain-blocking action by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.

200 mg Bolus: 1 bolus/100 kg body weight. 200 mg Bolus can be administered directly into the mouth of the animals, either by dissolving the bolus in water and given as a drench or by mixing with any feed.

Injection: For IM/SC/IV injection only.

• Livestock: Pneumonia- 1 ml/20 kg bodyweight & Acute Mastitis- 1 ml/10 kg body weight by IM at neck musculature or slowly at IV. Repeat once only after 48 hours if required.
• Dog: 1 ml/10 kg body weight by SC/IM injection and it may be repeated once only after 24 hours if required.
• Cat: 1 ml/10 kg body weight by SC injection and it may be repeated once only after 24 hours if required.
• Pig: 1 ml/20 kg body weight as a single IM injection in the neck musculature. Or, as directed by the Registered Veterinary Physician.

With medicine: Combining with other anti-inflammatory drugs concurrently or within 24 hours may lead to GI ulcers.
With food & others: No known interaction was found with feed.

Tolfenamic acid is contraindicated in animals hypersensitive to it or to other drugs in its class. It should not be used in animals with active GI ulceration.

Common side effects: Vomiting and diarrhea.
Rare side effects: Kidney failure, gastro-intestinal intolerance and collapse following rapid IV injection may be seen.

Tolfenamic acid may be used during pregnancy and lactation.

Withdrawal Time: Injection: Meat: Meat must not be consumed up to 10 days (for IM injection) & 04 days (for IV injection) after administration of this medicine and Milk: 0 (zero) day. Bolus: Not Known.

Tufnil Vet decreases thromboxane activity & platelet function. So, it is not recommended for using pre-surgically. It should be used cautiously during weak kidney and liver function.

Safety margin is 10 times of recommended dose. No specific antidote for toxicity due to overdose. But symptomatic treatments are recommended.

Store below 30°C and dry place, protected from light. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
