Indications

This bolus is a rumentoric preparation specially developed to treat the ruminal stasis in ruminant by increasing the rumen motility. A reduction in normal ruminal movement and functioning is termed as ruminal stasis. Ruminal stasis is a common condition among dairy cows and buffaloes. Decreased rumen motility is menifested in reduced rumen activity and a drop in milk production. The factors affecting rumen motility are,
  • Simple in indigestion.
  • Acute impaction of the rumen.
  • Dietary abnormalities of minor degrees, including indigestable roughages, mouldy overheaded feeds and moderate excess of grain and concentrate in take.
  • Sudden change in diet.
  • Limitation to available drinking water.
  • Unlimited access to ensilage.
  • Prolonged and heavy dosage with Sulpha drug.
Advantages:
  • This is effective against ruminal stasis due to decreased rumen motility which apprears as common symptom of digestive disturbances in high producing dairy cattle and buffaloes.
  • This restores rumen motility in ruminal stasis.
  • This corrects indigestion.
  • This restores normal milk production within the stortest period.

Pharmacology

Ruminal stasis is a problem among ruminant animals which causes reduction in normal ruminal movement. Ruminal stasis causes indigestion which hamper normal growth and decreases milk production. This preparation helps to increase rumen motility.

Dosage & Administration

Oral administration for ruminant animals only.
Cattle & Buffalo: 2-4 boli/day for 2-4 days.
Sheep & Goat: 1/2-1 boli/day for 2-4 days.
Treated animals should have access to drink plenty of water. Or, as directed by the Veterinary Physician.

Precautions & Warnings

Dosage & treatment period should not be exceeded than the recommendation. Do not use in emaciated animals.

Withdrawal period: Meat & milk: Not known.

Storage Conditions

Store in a cool & dry place, protected from light. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
