Indications
Tylorest Vet powder is effective both gram positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus, Diplococcus, Corynebacterium, Erycepolothrix, Clostridium) and gram negative bacteria (Proteus, Salmonella, Shigella, Klebsiella, Mycobacterium etc) and sinusitis, enteritis pneumonia etc. Tylorest Vet powder has a particular action against Mycoplasma gallisepticum S6, which is implicated in the CRD complex in chicken & infectious sinusitis in turkeys. The use of tylosin as feed additive to promote growth is safe.

Pharmacology
Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis by binding with 50s ribosomal subunit of bacteria.
Dosage & Administration
Poultry: 2.5 gm/litter drinking water or 3-5 gm/kg feed for 3-5 days.
Calves: 4 gm/50 kg body weight twice daily for 7-14 days.
Swine: 1.25 gm/litter of drinking water for 7 - 10 days. Or, as directed by Registered Veterinary Physician.

Interaction
With Medicine: Should not use with aminoglycoside antibiotic.

Contraindications
Cross-resistance between tylosin & penicillin or tetracycline has not been administered.
Side Effects
Tylorest Vet has a wide margin of safety in all species tested. It is safe at recommended dose. Occasionally diarrhea, articaria may occur. At higher dose excitement, hypernia may occur. Tylorest Vet should not be used in poultry producing eggs for human consumption.
Precautions & Warnings
Partial cross-resistance with erythromycin was found. Tylorest Vet did not develop cross-resistance to tetracycline or furazolidone.
