Indications

This gel is indicated for the prevention of pregnancy in female of reproductive potential for use as an on-demand method of contraception.

Pharmacology

In vitro studies showed that a pH lowering effect and sperm motility reduction contribute to the activity of this gel in the vagina. Systemic exposures of Lactic Acid, Citric Acid and Potassium Bitartrate following vaginal administration of this gel are not expected to lead to safety concerns. In vitro studies with commonly used vaginal preparations (Miconazole, Metronidazole, Tioconazole, and a product for maintaining normal vaginal pH) showed no significant effect on the pH or buffering capacity of this gel.

Dosage & Administration

Administer 5 g gel of Feelfree vaginally by the provided applicator immediately before (or up to one hour before) each episode of vaginal intercourse. May use during any part of the menstrual cycle or as directed by the physician.

How to use this gel: Follow the instructions in the diagrams below-
  1. Screw the applicator onto the tube in place of the cap.
  2. Squeeze the tube gently at its lower end, so as to fill the applicator at 5 g mark. Unless prescribed by the physician, the applicator must be completely filled up to 5 g.
  3. After amount taking gel, remove measured the applicator from the tube, which should be closed immediately with the cap.
  4. In knees a lying raised down andposition spread apart , with, delicately insert the applicator in to the vagina as deeply as possible. Push the piston to penetrate gel completely, then pull out the applicator without touching the piston
After each application, clean it carefully with warm water and soap. Do not use water which is hotter than 50°C or solvents. Then wipe the applicator and store in its packet. Always wash your hands with mild soap and warm water afterwards. Feelfree is not greasy and can easily be removed with water.

Use in Children & Adolescents: The use of Feelfree before menarche is not indicated.

Interaction

This gel may be used concomitantly with other products for vaginal infections including Miconazole, Metronidazole and Tioconazole.

Contraindications

Avoid the use of this gel with vaginal rings.

Side Effects

Most common side effects are vulvovaginal burning sensation, vulvovaginal pruritus, vulvovaginal mycotic infection, urinary tract infection, vulvovaginal discomfort, bacterial vaginosis, vaginal discharge, genital discomfort, dysuria and vulvovaginal pain.

Pregnancy & Lactation

There is no use for this gel in pregnancy.

Precautions & Warnings

Cystitis and Pyelonephritis: Avoid use in women with a history of recurrent UTI or urinary tract abnormalities.

Overdose Effects

In case of overdose, seek emergency medical attention.
