Indications

Vitix gel has been specially formulated to help regulate melanin activity in the skin. It is made up of microspheres of a plant extract which is exceptionally rich in anti-oxidant activity which mop up excessive amounts of Hydrogen peroxide in the skin which is thought to be toxic to the melanocytes, the melanin producing cells in the epidermis.

Twice daily application of Vitix gel helps restore melanin and with this restoration there can be a great possibility that colour will return to the skin. Vitix gel can be used along with the treatments using PUVA, UVB, and heliotherapy (sunlight) therapy.
  • Re-establishes the cells responsible for producing skin pigments (melanocytes)
  • Contains microspheres of patented vegetable extract with many anti-oxidising properties
  • A non greasy opaque gel with a slightly granular appearance
  • Applied once to twice daily to the affected areas for 3 to 6 months
  • Can be used in association with PUVA or UVB Therapy
Vitix gel has a slightly "grainy" feel to it when applied to the skin. These "grains" are the microspheres which protect and contain the natural enzymes which help the repigmentation to occur.

Vitix doesn’t work for everybody: It’s important to point out that, as with all treatments there are a number of patients who will not respond to Vitix treatment. Clinical studies carried out using Vitix plus phototherapy compared to placebo (dummy gel) plus phototherapy demonstrated that the probability of gaining a 50% reduction in the size of a pale patch of skin was twice as great in the Vitix group than in the placebo.

A second study confirmed that Vitix increases the probablility of achieving a satisfactory repigmentation by 50%.

The ingredients in Vitix are plant based and contain strong antioxidants, and this is mainly why it works well in repigmenting the skin. Once the gel has dried on the skin it is possible to apply normal daily skin care creams and make up.

Pharmacology

This daily face and body care product acts as a regulator for skins with depigmented areas (vitiligo). Vitix Gel possesses an innovative mechanism of action that improves the physiological balance of free radicals in epidermal cells thanks to a patented melon extract with high antioxidant content. Vitix Gel is an opaque, non-greasy gel with a weakly granular appearance; it encompasses micro-beads that encompass and protect the plant active substance. Upon application, the active substance is release on contact with the skin. The studies* conducted on VITIX demonstrate that regular application (twice daily in combination with phototherapy or heliotherapy) can prevent the progression of depigmentation, slow its development and, in a large number of cases, provide satisfactory repigmentation.

Dosage & Administration

Applying Vitix: Vitix gel should be applied on the affected areas twice a day by gently massaging it into the skin in a circular motion until the microspheres can no longer be felt. Treatment should be continued for 3 to 6 months, Additional benefits have been shown if Vitix gel is used in combination with phototherapy. Results should become apparent between the second and fourth months of use. Repigmentation of white marks may be seen in the form of small round marks or uniformly when the melanocytes have not completely disappeared from the area which has lost its pigment.
